Shopping small makes a big impact

by The 100 Companies

Small Business Saturday can be found sandwiched between the two biggest shopping days of the year: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. American Express coined the term and created this holiday in 2010 with the hopes of strengthening communities and local economies.

On average, for every dollar spent at a small business on Saturday, Nov. 30:

• 67 cents will stay in the local community.

• 44 cents will go to the small business owner.

• 23 cents will be reinvested in other local businesses.

See where you can participate by shopping small this holiday season and make a positive impact on your community.
