Despite pandemic, Florida’s NFL franchises gain in value

by The 100 Companies

The National Football League charged the Jacksonville Jaguars new ownership a $140 million expansion franchise fee for starting play in 1995. With Forbes’ 24th annual ranking of the value of NFL franchises, the Jaguars’ worth has  grown to $2.8 billion, ranked 26th in the NFL.

The most valuable franchise? America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, are ranked first at $6.5 billion, and the largest growth in the last year occurred in the Tampa Bay Buccaneer organization, rising 29 percent to be valued at nearly $3 billion.

New television contracts and investment revenue strategies countered the lower attendance and sales during the pandemic.
